I'm being terminated at my job and can't afford to stay at the apartment I am renting. I would like to know if I can terminate my rental agreement or is there a law because of my financial situation I can terminate it. I have been living there for a year and my lease will end on May.

We have been trying to get out of our lease due to a sick child with a lung disease and I am having difficult time with the management. We have a written letter from our daugters pulmonologist that requests termination of the lease immediately due to medical reasons. Someone on our floor smokes in their apartment which makes the hallways smell and even sometimes our apartment. This has made a huge impact on her health. With a doctors letter we should be able to get out of our rental agreement with no responsiblitly after we move out. Or atleast that is what I thought. The management will not let us leave until the apartment is rented to another tenate. Do you have any advise on what we should do?

Hi, I have tenants that floded my rental. There was a sewer blockage & the tenants were told to shut off the water. The female residint continued doing laundry & dishes despite water flowing out from under the wall next to the machine. (She did turn off the water at the toilet.) The plumber did come out & clear the line by pushing through what was thought to be TP, But at some point 3 rooms of carpet & lots of walls were wet. $8500 damage not including emergency clean up & sanitization. Licensed clean up & contractos were on the jor restoring immediately. How does this look like constructive eviction? The tenants filed a small claims case within 6 days of the damage while the repairs were being done?
